Messianic Symbols

Why use symbols, aren’t symbols wrong and is a way of following pagan customs?
No, YHVH first created all things in the physical and then used it to reveal Himself to us through these “symbols”.

The mind works with pictures, and when we see something, a thought train is activated, and you are reminded of certain things associated with that “picture” you just saw. YHVH knows this (and Satan too) and that’s why He connects His word to symbols to help us to be reminded of Him constantly, no matter where we go.

Satan on the other hand, wants copied the same principle and also uses pictures to associate “sin” to so that we can be reminded of our fleshly desires, no matter where we go. Just look around you, look at billboards, in magazines, TV and movies. Satan has infiltrated the whole world with reminders of “fleshly” things, which leads up to sin.

Music works on the same principle, words are interweave into a catchy tune, and before you know it, everybody are singing the words, without even thinking about it. These are the most used and most powerful tools Satan has stolen, to corrupt mankind and to bind them with his lies and deception.
In our faith, there are also symbols YHVH gave us to remind us of Him constantly. YHVH instructed certain symbols, but other symbols are just beautiful reminders that help us to live out a set apart life.
Care should be taken not to take symbols from pagan origin and use it in your faith, this will cause confusion and will not carry out a set apart living testimony.

Symbols commanded by YHVH:

  • Mezuzah – a Container with the summery of YHVH’s commandments fixed to the doorpost of your house.
  • Tzitzits – Also known as tassels, worn by men, to signify their set apart living as men of YHVH.
  • Shophar – Instrument used to signify appointed times by sounding it.
  • Shabbat – a Symbol of our set apartness and our sign that we are His people.
  • Festivals – All seven festivals are symbols of our faith which proclaims YHVH’s appointed times.

Symbols not commanded by YHVH:

  • Menorah – a Beautiful symbol used in the Temple that signifies YHVH’s truth bringing light into this dark world.
  • Tallit – Prayer shawl – Used by man to cover themselves while praying.
  • Lighting candles at Shabbat – a Beautiful symbolism of YHVH’s light shining in your home signifying Creation and Redemption.
  • Chanukah – The Festival of Lights remembering us of the rededication of our temple and the second coming of the Antimessiah.
